I've had many people reach out with an interest in getting certified in EFT. There are many different certification programs online and many different options to choose from. I of course suggest doing your research and finding the program that fits best for you. While I have been playing around with the idea of creating our own certification course, I haven't decided yet if that is the direction I want to go, so I want to give other options.
What was best for me was this online certification program. The reasons I liked this course was that it was virtual, affordable, and was using actual EFT.
What do I mean by actual EFT? There are many brands who have taken EFT and tweaked it into their own method, their own technique and their own points. Personally, a pet peeve of mine is when I see someone who has created their 'own technique' of EFT, yet the points they are using aren't even real EFT points. The problem with this is that people may try these 'copy' brands and find it doesn't work for them. Then they have a bad taste about EFT and think it doesn't work, but it's actually that person who has failed them.
I thought the program I took was reasonably priced, filled with value and had the opportunity to set you up to be a practitioner that could help others.
With that being said, there were a lot of things that I didn't like about the certification course. And instead of lying, I am going to be honest so that you can make a proper decision for yourself.
First off, this course is not trauma informed. She does not advertise it as so, but as a complex trauma survivor, this made this course harmful for me at points, because it is NOT trauma informed or aware.
In Level 1, she encourages you to make a list of every single memory or situation you can remember that may have been upsetting from the day you were born till present day. This is so you can work through every single one of those situations with EFT to clear out your own emotional baggage before you are working with others. As a complex trauma survivor, this was a very harmful exercise. I was overwhelmed and shut down when just making my list to age 7 before I had to stop and put the course aside for a couple months to gain my balance and strength back. Yes it is beneficial to work on your own stuff before working with others. And theres NO way that you will clear out everything, and if you are a complex trauma survivor like me, do not do this list. Just work on one thing at a time, otherwise you could re-traumatize yourself or go into an emotional flashback.
Second off, I do not agree with the instructors viewpoints, opinions or teaching style when it comes to sexual abuse and trauma. If you are a sexual abuse survivor or a child sexual abuse survivor. Please do not watch her viewpoint on this. Luckily her "new" version of her course pre-warns this discussion so you can choose to not watch, but the older version of her course did not pre-warn this and was extremely harmful to me. And I want to make it clear, Tapping with Dani, Healing & C-PTSD, and myself, do NOT agree with the beliefs or teachings of sexual abuse with this course.
With that being said, I do still feel like this is the most informative EFT Course available at an affordable price.
